to help with the idea of filming in the woods we looked at previous years work, and students work from other schools on youtube, of similar ideas to gain inspiration. This helped as we could see what worked and in some cases what doesnt work. We will film during the day as this is more convenient due to the lack of light after school, the mysterious effect can still be made even if the shots are in daylight due to the location and effects on the macs.

We watched the opening scenes from a number of DVDs of horror/thriller genre, including titles such as 28 days later, the grudge and the scream trilogy. we have noticed that the majority of the opening scenes from these films have a dark mysterious establishing shot which sets the scene of  the genre. they then go on to the story line (everyday life) or in some cases straight into the action, like in The Grudge a suicide scene is in the first 2 minutes.

BRIEF

In my coursework I will be creating the opening scene of a new fiction film, it will last a maximum of two minutes, the video and audio material must be original, produced by myself, with the exeption of copyright free sound effcts and music.
